Four Days of Education, Entertainment, and Fun Created Especially for You!  FREE

At the intersection of health, community empowerment, and civic engagement, Community Hero Action Group (CHAG) proudly presents it’s annual event during April 2024, National Minority Health Month.  In recognition of National Minority Health Month, we are hosting the fourth annual Pennsylvania Black Health Matters Conference. This event is free to the community and its goal is to provide actionable, accurate information with a focus on topics that are germane to the Black community.  This year’s focus is on mental wellness, hence the theme, “Release and Restore.”   Our goal is to release the stigma and baggage that is typically associated with mental health and restore joy and empowerment to the community.

Empowering Our Community.  This conference is more than an event; it’s a movement! CHAG is committed to empowering our community by addressing health disparities and fostering an environment of inclusivity, awareness, and action. Join us as we take collective steps toward a healthier, more empowered future.

Health Equity and Awareness.  Recognizing the unique health challenges the Black community faces, our conference aims to drive conversations around health equity. We’re working towards dismantling barriers to optimal health and well-being through a diverse offering of programming: including forums, interactive workshops, health screenings, expert insights, and real discourse that unpacks the impact of policy and legislation on our community’s health and wellness.

Special Invite from Radio Show Host, Dr. Safiyya Shabazz, MD, "Her Health Matters"

Hello everyone, I’m Safiyya Shabazz, the host of “Her Health Matters”. Today, I’m excited to be here at this four-day conference and to introduce a special series of videos that will be aired on Monday, entitled “My Sister’s Stories.”

During this series, I will be talking to female attendees about their health journeys. I believe that sharing our personal stories can be a powerful way to inspire and support each other. We all have unique experiences with our health, and by sharing these stories, we can learn from each other, find comfort in knowing we’re not alone, and even discover new resources and approaches that we may not have considered before.

So, if you’re attending this conference and have a story to share, be sure to visit the taping area.  I would love to hear from you. Let’s come together to support and uplift each other on our journeys toward better health.

    Thank you.
